Suitability of wooden shutters for windows

Wooden shutters are suitable for almost any window and are available in any shutter style, with almost endless customisation options. They are also available in any colour enabling you to choose from 51 standard colours and stains. You also have the option of specifying your favourite Dulux, Farrow & Ball or Little Greene colours to make your wooden shutters the focal point of your home.

We always recommend wooden shutters for windows that are particularly tall or require more than two shutter panels bi-folding to one side. They are a popular choice for homeowners wanting a natural product, particularly if they have invested in wooden windows opposed to uPVC windows.

What quality should I expect?

Our wooden shutters are 100% natural wood, including the louvres. Our wood is stored for six months to allow it to settle before being kiln dried twice in a high-tech, computer-controlled drying facility before being crafted. The shutters are finished with a high-quality, proprietary paint system which has been developed specifically for finishing our shutters. We use a minimum of six coats of either paint or stain to ensure that our shutters are not susceptible to colour fading or discolouration.
